Gen Z vs AI? No. It’s Gen Z with AI.
There’s been a lot of talk lately:
“Gen Z is lazy.”
“They are unemployable.”
“Too soft for the real world.”
Let’s set the record straight. Gen Z isn’t the worst working generation – they are simply the most misunderstood.
They have grown up in a world of constant change, digital overload, and global pressure. Their influences aren’t just local, they come from every corner of the internet. And the weight of that can be overwhelming.
Now, they are entering the workforce in the middle of one of the greatest technological disruptions in history: AI is no longer coming – it’s already here.
And while only 6% of senior leaders worry about their own roles, 62% of Gen Z believe AI could replace their jobs in the next decade.
That’s not just fear – it’s awareness.
Here’s what more leaders need to recognize:
👉 Gen Z is digital-first, highly capable, and hungry to grow.
👉 They don’t need criticism – they need mentorship.
👉 They are not broken – they just need space and support to evolve.
Gen Z gets this. They want to learn. They want to contribute. They just need to be shown how.
AI won’t replace Gen Z. But Gen Z professionals who learn how to work with AI will replace those who don’t.
So here’s the choice for all of us as leaders, mentors, and employers:
✨ Don’t dismiss Gen Z. Develop them.
✨ Don’t fear AI. Equip people to embrace it.
✨ Don’t complain. Coach.
Gen Z doesn’t need criticism. All they need is trust, tools, and guidance.
By supporting and mentoring Gen Z, we can unlock their full potential and create a future where humans and AI thrive together.
