I see a lot of bosses in workplaces thinking that holding a title makes them a leader. But authority alone doesnโ€™t make someone a leader, it often just makes them a boss.

Think back on your journey.
There were people who encouraged you, pushed you out of your comfort zone, and gave you the confidence to grow.
They made you believe in a better future and urged you to claim your place in it.

And then there were those who used authority to keep you down, focused only on results, and made you feel small along the way.

Thatโ€™s the difference between a boss and a leader:
A boss manages tasks; a leader mentors people.
A boss uses authority; a leader earns trust.
A boss demands; a leader inspires.
A boss tells; a leader listens.
A boss shifts blame; a leader takes responsibility.

At the heart of it, bosses rely on power.
Leaders rely on people.
You may lose power, but you will never lose people.

Leadership isnโ€™t about holding a title, itโ€™s about how you make others feel and what you bring out in them.
When you listen, recognize, encourage, and show empathy, people donโ€™t just work for youโ€ฆ they grow with you.

The essence of leadership is not in what people achieve for you, but in how they evolve with you.

Boss vs. Leader – which one will you choose to be?
