Data protection isnโt only about collecting and storing data. Itโs also about knowing when and how to remove it.
In Oracle HCM Cloud, this is handled using the Remove Person Information feature in the Data Exchange work area.

Candidate data often contains Personal Identifiable Information (PII) and may need to be removed to meet data protection or local regulatory requirements.
The basic steps are:
1๏ธโฃ Soft delete the candidate in Recruiting
โ This flags the candidate and their applications for disposal
2๏ธโฃ Create a Person Information Removal Policy
โ Choose Candidate as the category
โ Select which candidate data should be removed
3๏ธโฃ Run the Remove Person Information process
โ Provide the candidate number(s)
โ Submit the process in Remove mode
You can track the status and validate removal using logs or OTBI reports.

The same feature can also be used for post-employment data cleanup, including:
– Terminated employees
– Workers with cancelled work relationships
– Purging data from HCM Data Loader staging tables
It also supports staggered disposal, for example:
Remove Global HR data first
Retain payroll data longer for statutory reasons
Dispose payroll data later using the same person number

– Helps meet GDPR and data protection requirements
– Reduces audit and compliance risk
– Ensures data is removed in a controlled and auditable way
Sharing a short video alongside this post that shows the steps end to end. https://lnkd.in/esctKxmV
Data protection is complete only when data is disposed of correctly.
