A truly inspiring day at the House of Commons, UK Parliament.
I had the privilege of meeting Matthew Turmaine, MP for Watford, alongside the passionate team from One vision Registered Charity – ENOCH Kanagaraj BEM DL and Harjit Singh DL.
What made this interaction special was not just the setting, but the sincerity of the conversation.
Matt was incredibly kind, approachable, and deeply accommodating -creating a space where ideas flowed openly and meaningfully. Leadership like this makes collaboration easier and impact stronger.
Our discussion centred on neighbourhood health – not as a policy ambition, but as a lived reality. How do we move care closer to communities? How do we ensure it is trusted, inclusive, and rooted in real-life needs?
This is where #OneVision plays a powerful role – connecting people, communities, and systems, and ensuring that prevention, early engagement, and cultural understanding are not afterthoughts, but foundations.
The idea of a multi neighbourhood provider also stood out – bringing consistency, coordination, and continuity across communities, rather than working in silos.
It was encouraging to see a shared commitment to reducing health inequalities and strengthening how communities and systems work together.
It was also great to hear insights from Tanvir Alam, who brought a valuable perspective on health inequalities and neighbourhood-led care.
Grateful for the opportunity to be part of this and contribute, even in a small way, to conversations that aim to create more inclusive and connected neighbourhoods. Thankful to ENOCH Kanagaraj BEM DL and Priyanka Gandhi for recognising the value I could bring and making this possible.
Looking forward to continuing this journey and supporting what comes next.
