Volunteers Week

As we mark #VolunteersWeek across the UK this week, I want to take a moment to thank and celebrate all those who generously give their time to help others.

Volunteering is something very close to my heart. Through my involvement with Watford Tamil Sangam, I have had the opportunity to help organise Tamil cultural events, support community initiatives, and work alongside many dedicated volunteers who are passionate about making a difference.

I was delighted to recently celebrate an important milestone for Watford Tamil Sangam with Peter Taylor, Mayor of Watford. We had some great discussions about how community organisations and volunteers can continue to support local communities and create a positive impact in people’s lives.

My sincere thanks to Peter Taylor for his continued support of community organisations and for taking the time to engage with and encourage volunteers across #Watford.

To every volunteer – whether you support a charity, school, community group, sports club, cultural organisation, or simply help those around you – thank you.

Keep volunteering in whatever way you can. You may never fully know the impact of your actions, but your time, kindness, and commitment can change lives.

Small acts of service can create a lifetime of impact.

Happy Volunteers Week!
